When She Walked Away is all about providing a safe environment for one to submit their creative and very emotional pieces on the subject of domestic violence– this is why we will never provide readers with your personal information if requested.
We are looking for stories of surviving domestic violence, coping with the aftermath, and rebuilding. We also welcome information-based pieces including pieces about current legislation, relationship red flags, and insights. We accept poetry, artwork, or anything you can create related do domestic violence.
At When She Walked Away, we suspend our judgement by acknowledging that every person is just that– an individual with unique life circumstances. Therefore, we will not accept submissions that lean toward victim blaming.
We are non-paying, but if you are a creative writer who does not wish to remain anonymous, we will allow you to link your website or other social media pages to your submission upon acceptance.
